God’s Family Worships
       Palm Sunday

April 10, 2022     11:00 A.M.
Almighty and ever living God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and also share in his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

*Call to Worship    Debbie Taylor

L: “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” Today we celebrate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
C:  Hosanna! Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
L:  Jesus humbly rode into Jerusalem on a donkey for the Feast of the Passover. The crowds spread their cloaks on the road and others laid palms to prepare the way for his victorious coming.
C:  Rejoice! Rejoice! The King arrives!
L:  Five hundred years before Jesus, the prophet Zechariah told of the Messiah’s coming of humility and peace.
C:  Rejoice! Rejoice! The triumphant King has come!
L:  On the journey to liberation from sin, we celebrate Christ’s victories, sorrowfully contemplate his sacrifice,                                                                                               and we revel in his resurrection, the ultimate victory.
C:  We remember the long road to freedom that our ancestors traveled, filled with triumphs, death, and new life.
L:  Ride on, King Jesus! Ride on, conquering King!
C:  Jesus came “to bring good news to the poor; to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind; and to let the oppressed go free.”
L:  With excitement and joy we welcome you into our lives.  With loud hosannas,                                                                                                                we join you on your march toward liberation, justice, and love for all people.
C:  Rejoice! Rejoice! The triumphant King has come

*Hymn of Praise           “Soon and Very Soon”            by Andrae Crouch
Soon and very soon,
We are going to see the King,
Soon and very soon,
We are going to see the King.
Soon and very soon,
We are going to see the King,
Hallelujah, hallelujah,
We are going to see the King.

No more crying there,
We are going to see the King,
No more crying there,
We are going to see the King.
No more crying there,
We are going to see the King,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
We are going to see the King.

No more dying there,
We are going to see the King,
No more dying there,
We are going to see the King.
No more dying there,
We are going to see the King,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,

We are going to see the King.
