19th Sunday After Pentecost
September 26, 2021 – 11:00 A.M.
We thank you, O God, for the light which wakes us morning by morning; for the light of learning which brings knowledge; but most of all we thank you for the divine light which is reflected in the face of Jesus Christ and which enlightens our lives by the Holy Spirit.
Shine upon us and within us as we come to your light.  Amen.

*Hymn of Praise         “Soon and Very Soon”         by Andrae Crouch

Soon and very soon,
We are going to see the King,
Soon and very soon,
We are going to see the King.
Soon and very soon,
We are going to see the King,
Hallelujah, hallelujah,
We are going to see the King.

No more crying there,
We are going to see the King,
No more crying there,
We are going to see the King.
No more crying there,
We are going to see the King,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
We are going to see the King.

No more dying there,
We are going to see the King,
No more dying there,
We are going to see the King.
No more dying there,
We are going to see the King,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
We are going to see the King.

Pastoral Prayer

The Fellowship of the Word

*Hymn                       “God Favored Me”              by Hezekiah Walker
and I can't help but give you glory
When I think about my story, and I know you favored me
Because my enemies did try but couldn't triumph over me
Yes they did try but couldn't triumph over me.

The Sending Forth

*Closing Hymn “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”  by Thomas Dorsey

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me sta-and
I am tired, I'm weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the li-ight
Take my ha-and, precious Lor-ord
Lead me home

When my work is all done
And my race here is are you-un
Let me see-ee by the light
Thou hast shown
That fair city so bright
Where the lantern is the li-ight
Take my ha-and, precious Lor-ord
Lead me on

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me sta-and
I am tired, I'm weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the li-ight
Take my ha-and, precious Lor-ord
Lead me home
