Come, let us sing to the Lord. Let us make joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Amen.

Responsive Reading:  Psalm 139: 1, 4, 7-10, 23-24
Leader: O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.
Gathered: Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.
Leader: Before a word is on my tongue,
Gathered: You know it completely, O Lord.
Leader: Where can I go from your Spirit?
Gathered: Where can I flee from your presence?
Leader: If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
Gathered: If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
Leader: If I rise on the winds of the dawn, if I settle
                        On the far side of the sea,

Gathered: Even there your hand will guide me,
                        Your right hand will hold me fast.
Leader: Search me, O God, and know my heart;
                        Test me and know my anxious thoughts.

All: Point out anything in me that offends you, O Lord,
And lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Scripture Readings

Deuteronomy 6: 5-9
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem on your forehead, and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

2 Chronicles 7: 13-15

When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.
